Detailed Design
We focus on the nature of detailed design in comparison to the previous design stage of concept design. We explain how detailed design can be used to visualise plant yields and characteristics using a highlighting feature.
What is Detailed Design
In detailed design, we can turn larger areas into items we can build or plant. It usually contains objects in their real-life dimensions. You can see an example on the image below.
EXAMPLE
For example, a veggie garden area from your concept design will evolve into garden beds of specific sizes you can shop for or build.
Highlight Implemented Elements of Your Detailed Design
If you change the attribute of implementation status of elements, you can toggle the view between the current implemented state of your detailed design and the planned state.
You can toggle the view in the overlay menu by clicking the clipboard icon. A checkmark on the clipboard indicates implemented items, and a list indicates all future works.
Highlight Planting by Times of Flowering, Fruiting, or Bearing Leaves
If you set up the times your trees bear blossoms, fruit, or leaves in the corresponding plant’s attributes, you can visualise the information for each month.
You can toggle the highlighting in the overlay menu by clicking the icon of a highlighter marker.
EXAMPLES
Why would you want to fill and visualise the fruiting, flowering and bearing leaves?
Our initial motivation was to plan for processing yield, to check that we grow enough bee forage all year round.
We also use it to plan for shelter from the hot summer sun when placing deciduous trees.
Highlighting fruiting trees - especially when it comes to fruit and nut trees, for each month might help us to remember and plan processing of yields like fermenting, canning, or drying.
