News: Talk for Permaculture Sydney South
We had the opportunity to give an in-person talk to a welcoming group of permies from Permaculture Sydney South. To provide the most relevant information, along with showing how Permiehub helps with digital permaculture design, we included a detour about using consumer drones to create orthophotos.
Even with established gardens and less of a need to design a new project, we think Permiehub helps with identifying garden improvements and gradual redesigns as the needs and wants of the inhabitants change. Furthermore, having a well-grown, tended, and loved garden is the golden opportunity to share its design and information about what grows in your garden with your community. As new varieties of plants become popular and might compete the heritage ones, having a documented specimen might help preserve locally appropriate plants for future growers and gardeners.
Beyond sharing our presentation, we really enjoyed connecting with the Permaculture Sydney South group. We appreciated their active approach to growing, even in the busyness of the bustling city and intimate leafy suburbs, and we got to see some happy backyard chooks.
